Soaring is a very social sport. Every one needs to pitch in to move gliders (they don't have engines :-)), fly tow planes, instruct, stage, and help launch. |
Of course, conflicts do sometimes arise :-). Actually, Bob Boyd and Bill Maxwell were driving tie down stakes into the ground to secure gliders. |
Before I bought my current glider "6N" (LS6-b), I had a 1/3 share in "T4" (Pegasus 101A). "6N" was previously "DJ" when owned by Doug Jacobs who, in 1985, won a world championship in Riete, Italy (as well as several US national contests). |

Bob Boyd flying Pilatus B4 "PS" near Franconia NH. I'm flying the club's other B4. The Mittersill ski area is off of my left wingtip. I spent a lot of time there flying hang gliders many moons ago. |
